Huh??? 11hz from this lil flea box? British miracle or Bollocks?

Have you seen this guy's channel? I think he works for some pro audio company, and the fella's sharp...he's been 3D printing some fairly unique enclosures and tinkering with tiny lil subs for a bit.

Yeah, his channel is definitely worth subscribing to.

It's amazing what he's been able to achieve with those 3-D printers, in creating small boom-boxes for cars.

I appreciate his honesty though in not making outlandish claims that his mini-sub's will have the same specs or SQ sound of a good pro sub, like in this video.

This guy likes the KEF...
o_O

How can he physically review the KC62 if KEF hasn’t put it out there yet?

We never see it in his room.

Or am I missing/misunderstanding something?

Kicker woofers were one of the first car woofers that worked well in a very small box and they did work well, as long as the listener wasn't being too critical. Still, they did well in car audio events when it came to frequency response, as long as everything was integrated well and balanced.

Reviewers get units in advance of release, to create interest. Well, unless it totally sucks and in that case, they delay release or kill it on the spot.

Just got an e-mail from one of my suppliers- they were recently acquired, so all of the dealer agreements needed to be re-done, but they're back with KEF, so I'll find out if/when they'll see this sub in their location. If/when it shows up, I'll find out if they'll have a demo unit.

So you're saying he physically has it in the room but isn't allowed to show it? o_O

It's possible that he had one, but needed to return it. My local distributor doesn't have them- I'll find out if any of the other locations have it. Another distributor doesn't show it at all- it must be VERY new.

It is respectable what he achieved with the dinky li'l 3 inches though....almost makes me want to resurrect the 3D printer rusting away in my basement. His very concise videos on woofer break in, enclosure orders, isobaric loading, etc, etc quite a few are all well done...good production quality...looks like he's about to give Gene Dellasella a run for his money ;)

That makes me think of the Klipschorn corner cabinets. Maybe a little off topic ;) but a friend of my father's was a woodworker and got a hold of plans for an old Klipschorn cabinet which he fabricated. This was some 50 or more years ago. He loaded it with Electrovoice components: horn tweeter, mid-range horn and a 15" downward firing woofer with Electrovoice sealed crossovers. I was fascinated that the woofer was face down through a semi-circular opening, and the cavity below the woofer opened up to the back of the cabinet which was open. Very unique design at the time and different from the way modern Klipschorns are built.
I remember that the drivers were incredibly efficient. He had a Scott kit-built tube amp with only 30W per channel but that old setup sounded as good or better than some of the new systems my friends were buying in the 80's. My dad bought his friend's house and the system came with it, so I became very familiar with it. He had a reel-to-reel recording of the 1812 Overture that was quite sought after by collectors. When the cannons went off it shook the room. :D My dad was mostly into classical and big band music, but oh man, you should have heard Deep Purple's Lazy on that setup.
