Aw come on. Just look at it as an extra remote in case the Harmony dies. Nothing wrong with having a backup.
I don't care about the remote... I'm just pissed that I didn't think of pressing the green button after you guys filled me in. I had already convinced myself that I still needed the other remote to teach the green button command. Whatever...I didn't get home until about 1am last night from the office so I was in no mood. My wife leaves for a business trip on Sunday, so I'll have the entire day uninterrupted to tie up these loose ends. Suddently the Harmony isn't switching the input correctly for my WATCH TV command. It always fixes it easy enough but still goes to the wrong input even thught the correct one is selected in the activity. its just stupid stuff like that I just need to sit down and figure out and get corrected.Aw come on. Thats why people go with amx, crestron, control4, urc etc. bullet proof once your system starts to get more complicated. The harmony should be fine once all the kinks are addressed, but as you said its a PIA. Good luck I know its frustrating.its just stupid stuff like that I just need to sit down and figure out and get corrected.
This is one of the reasons I use EventGhost to control everything. Free automation software. Works great as long as the remote communicates properly. My use for a Harmony remote would be considerably different.Thats why people go with amx, crestron, control4, urc etc. bullet proof once your system starts to get more complicated.
