Hello,

I bought two 10" 300 Watt RMS 1000 Watt Peak 4 Ohm Kenwood KFC-W2512 subs originally for my car. I also bought a Boss Exxtreme CX950 (2 channel 300 Watt RMS/channel 1000 Watt Peak/Channel 4 Ohm amp to drive them.

I can go two ways with this equipment:

A) Hook them up to my car (2004 Audi A4) but I don't want to have to change my deck....

OR

B) Hook them up to my home theater system. I would rather have them in my house, but I am not sure how to power them or how to incorporate them with my current receiver which has a subwoofer out line...

I have read several sites where people suggest PSU's but not for anything this size. I would appreciate anyone's knowledgeable suggestions.

Thanks!!

For the price of a DC power supply that will be adequate for a car stereo amp, you can buy a good power amp that doesn't need an external power supply.

Adding subwoofers to a car stereo, even if it's a stock system, doesn't require changing the head unit- it requires integrating the amp and sub(s) in the OEM system.
