Alcohol isn't a problem - it's a solution.

Wait - it doesn't mean anything that I think that, does it?
According to Homer Simpson, it is both:

"... alcohol: the cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems."

then between the office and the garages I have another 20 or so, plus my son has a set of tritrix, pe bookshelfs, and a couple other things.

thats all the cheap stuff, the jukeboxes plus the external juke speakers are where i have spent a ton of money, I have a pair wurlitzer 250s, a set of wurlitzer stars, and 2 prs of the johnny one note 4004s in almost brand new condition... I spent more on the pair of wulritzer 250s than on every speaker in the above list, all 45+!!!

My standalone speakers are all in my family (home theater) room 5.0 setup (dual centers):

Polk Audio Monitor 10B's (4 total)
Polk Audio Monitor 4's (2 total)

I recently rebuilt the crossovers in the 10B's and they sound great; stay tuned for an article about it coming to Audioholics in July.

I've modernized my systems over the past year while my wife is still making good wages and who is about to retire next year.

I replaced my modest HT last summer:

Sony SAVA-55 (1996 - cool wireless IR rears) now stored in the garage - replaced with:

Denon AVR driven Axiom M22s, QS4s, VP100 and twin Velodyne DLS-3750Rs .

Replaced my primary Audio Only System:

Axiom AX2s and 1 Velodyne F1000 (from early 1990s - still working) now stored in the garage - replaced with:

Axiom M2s and twin Axiom EP400 subs driven by a Tube Amp & SACD player.

Added a secondary Audio Only System in the same room above:

Axiom M3s driven by Sony SS Receiver & CDP (room ambiance system).

Computer Room driven by Kenwood 100W/Ch Receiver:

Realistic Minimus 7s or Koss M50s (1980s) for normal stuff;

Sansui PCM-200s (from 1980s with 15" woofers) for sampling SACDs, etc on the net.

I think that I'm done with buying any more gear for a while, ha!!

I need to sell most of my speakers is what I need to do.

I should just keep my Salon2 + Funk 18.0 for Pure Direct 2.2 Music and KEF 201/2 + Funk 18.0 for Pure Direct 5.2 Movies.

Oh, I should probably keep the Phil3 + 4 Velodyne subs for karaoke.

Har de Har Har. Hope you've got friends up there on the moon.
There's no denying I have way too many speakers. I was just trying to find excuses to keep a few. The family room is pretty much for everything - music, movies, games, parties, karaoke, etc. The Phil3 seems to do most things well.

With this invention called Dynamic Compression, karaoke can be quite fun. ;)

No matter how much you scream and squeal, the vocal output is tremendously tamed and greatly improved. :D

However, I have yet to ask ANYONE (except avid karaoke fans) to participate. :D

These speakers are now in my house. I am not counting some pairs of lame computer speakers that we will never use but will not toss out. All of these are pairs except the subwoofer.

Boston Acoustics A40 (not being used now, but are called into action occasionally)
Boston Acoustics CS26 (in my son's stereo right now)
DIY bookshelf with Pioneer 4.5 full-range drivers (not being used now but called into action occasionally)
DIY old Boston Acoustic T1000 enclosures with 8" Goldwood full-range drivers in front and 8" Dayton reference woofers in the back (living room speakers)
JBL Control One Monitors (connected to a Sony micro stereo in the kitchen)
Polk RTi4 (used in the bedroom with the Sony subwoofer)
Sony SS-B1000 (not being used)
Sony SS-B3000 (not being used, may upgrade the drivers later)
Sony SA-W2500 subwoofer (used in the bedroom with the Polks)

We also have two Sony shelf systems in which we also use the stock speakers. One of them is the sound for the computer my wife uses, and she does not care about better sound at all. The other one is connected to our old TV in the spare bedroom. That system has two stereo amps, one for the midbass and tweeter and one for the subwoofers. All three drivers are in the same enclosure, and it sounds pretty good for movies. Peace and goodwill.
