Forum MOD RECs to get Audioquest cables... I think it says it all
Yeah that is what I noticed too. I love those kinds of threads, where one party is so incredibly ignorant that they fight their awful opinion to the grave.

appears to be still open, and full of BS.

I like how DK says things like:

When you move from the realm of measuring actual nerve response to measuring how the mind interprets sensory stimuli, blind tests present some problems and other types of tests are more appropriate.
Yet doesn't bother mentioning what he thinks the problems are and why he thinks other tests are more appropriate.

I also like how he makes a bunch of claims (all or most of which turn out to be wrong) regarding a couple of sensory evaluation books without having ever read the books, but he had read a brochure and the index from them. What a buffoon. Unc2701 tore him apart repeatedly and thoroughly but the other gibbons there are too biased to realize it.

This right here tells you precisely how thoroughly he's going about his "research" into sensory evaluation:

Joe, you bring up an excellent point. I must admit that I had not even considered looking into the "placebo effect" when I started this research a couple of weeks ago.
Even more laughable:

Therefore, rather than eliminating or debunking the placebo effect, adherence to appropriate sensory science evaluative techniques avoids the occurrence of it altogether.
The notion that you can completely eliminate placebo and bias by being "properly trained" and having "honest intentions" is ridiculous in the extreme, and makes me think the person that said it might be a wee bit retarded. He didn't even consider looking into placebo, because hes trained and honest and is therefore completely immune to its effects. Good effing lord, what nonsense.

I think it's also pathetic and predictable that you get the arguments of "if it were placebo I'd like the more expensive stuff but I like the cheaper stuff better sometimes" and also "I didn't want to hear a difference because I'd rather save my money, but I did hear a difference so I spent 3500 dollars on power cables." Apparently it isn't obvious that these two mindsets will result in completely opposite conclusions, that EVERYONE is susceptible to BOTH types of thinking (no matter which you THINK you lean towards), and that which side of the fence you end up on on any given Sunday could be attributed to almost a million different psychological factors, including time of day, mood, what you had for dinner, when the last time you got laid was, etc, etc, etc.

Cheaper cables sound better to my ears. If you know what I mean.

I took some Monoprice wire and swung it around my head really fast. It made a woosh woosh sound. Then I tried it with some very exprensive wire. It made a whish whish sound.
So there you have it.

You do realize that any comments that appear to say that, aren't serious, right? The "Back of the mob" and "You're out of the mob!" are from the movie 'Animal', with Rob Schneider.

I was looking at the title for this thread and am saddened to see that so many didn't see the error in it. Everyone who really knows audio and video should have commented earlier- gnomes connect speaker cables, not magicians. Magicians make speaker cables.
