How does the sound quality compare between Yamaha RX-Z1 and Outlaw 975?

I use Tripp Lite 20A surge protectors.

The hospital where I work uses Tripp Lite everywhere, so I figured if it's good enough to protect all those expensive hospital equipment, it's good enough for my gears. :D

I have installed a whole house surge protector on the breaker panel.

that's what I did, block it at the source, but I still just for the sake of sanity since I do live in the lightning capital of the US is central Fl I added some Tripps to my audio rack, just in case. Mother nature can be a ***** with lightning.

I am going install another 20 amp line on a dual breaker to attempt to tame ground loops issues.

I have a whole-house protector too, but I was told the clamping time was too slow for electronics, and was aimed mostly at appliances & HVAC systems.

Since we are off-topic ;) What would you guys recommend for a surge protector for my new 975/7125 combo? I also have: satellite box; LCD TV; DVD player; bluray; HTPC; sub-amp; sub-EQ.
I know the ones I used for work to protect programmable controllers would actually work but were expensive, like >1K even years ago. The cheap ones such as those by Belkin or similar are proably just better than nothing and those MOVs don't last so to me its is almost useless. I found one that can only be bought online and it costs $200 for 2 outlets, but no idea how it works and whether it would actually offer good protection without side effects on amps. To me, just unplug the expensive stuff during electrical storms.
