As a Canadian, I would not cast stones at US government shortchanging of veterans via classification of conflicts. Our own government has been accused of playing the same game from the Persian Gulf War right up to service in Iraq and Syria against ISIS.

Agreed. I was casting stones at both of the governments in heart because I’m also aware of the Canadian government doing the same bullshit. It’s disgusting that governments are unwilling to help out the families of soldiers that paid the ultimate sacrifice.

It’s for that very reason that I never enlisted. I’m not going to fight for a country that screws its veterans and their families. Cheating on taxes or committing fraud is less of a human offense in my eyes than governments welching on compensation for veterans and their families. It’s worse than rape ffs!!

Can you provide a link where the family actually received compensation like you state? It would make me feel better that she is getting compensation for her husband’s ultimate sacrifice.
