How close are we to WWIII?

If I wanted to be informed about anything, I wouldn't be hanging around on an A/V site. I'm contemplating reporting your post. This is serious and you have been warned. I'm gonna have to log in on FB to remain unaware of the state of affairs.

I am pretty sure you are joking. But, we are now closer to WWIII than at any time since WWII. More countries seem to be getting dragged in by the hour. Our bases and those of our allies are getting significantly degraded, especially radar monitoring sites. Unfortunately Iran is playing this smarter than you think.

I am far from convinced we have enough current resources to sustain what we started, let alone manage another front if one should open up. History tells us the unexpected takes over and rules subsequent events.
I regard this situation as highly problematic, uncertain, and of undetermined outcome. I am particularly worried as Trump does not have the intelligence, patience or stamina for a protracted outcome.

WWI comes to mind, when in many ways there are more similarities than I care to think about. Remember: - Home by Christmas! Well it was a four year ghastly slugfest and millions dead.

Just don't think for one minute it can't happen again. As I say, the thing that worries me the most by far, is Trump's mental status.

What did you write that I, or anyone else, should have comprehended?

If you had mentioned the actual route for Khomeini to power, I wouldn't have needed to clarify. All you did was blame the US for supporting the shah- I'm not going to search your posts for specifics.
I mentioned that previously and if you just jump on the last post thing, then it becomes a you issue and reading comprehension problem on your part.

I saw that last night and ole Trumpster denied it stating to the reporter who asked the question that this was a stupid question. I wonder if Trump's ego will allow him to put facts together about Putin. I'm not putting money on that. Putin's cash flow is increasing because of the higher oil prices which means he can wage war longer against Ukraine. That's why Putin is leaking this classified info to the Iranians, at least that is what CBC analysts are saying.

Absolutely Putin will, and is, turning this to his advantage. This is how world wars evolve. All we need now is another front to open up and that calls it WWIII. The two most likely spots are Taiwan and Russia making further incursions into Europe. The likely candidates are the Balkans, Baltic states and Karalla, Finland.

The longer this war with Iran goes on, the more likely other fronts will open. History tells us this.

I just watched an extended BBC broadcast and there has been a massive uptake in activity at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. US bombers and cargo planes are coming in at a steady pace. This base is halfway between the US and Iran.

Meanwhile Starmer is belatedly starting to mobilize. So far this has been an embarrassment as none of the Royal Navy's destroyers were fit for service. HMS Dragon was closest, but needed welding and the dock workers would not work overtime! More Left wing BS from Union employees. Anyhow she should sail next week and is currently being loaded with supplies and ammunition.

Today it was announced that the Aircraft Carrier, Prince of Wales will sail for the war zone in five days. This is a change of mission as she was being readied for North Atlantic patrols as defence against Russia.

Meanwhile there have been demonstrations pro and against UK involvement. In the demo against, the Iranian flag was prominently displayed.

So that is the state of play in the UK as of now.

You mean you don't believe the leader that we have unlimited everything for indefinite time? ;) :D:D:D

Certainly exposes all those maga types in the military too.:mad:

This is a very expensive operation indeed. Three or 4 of those sites at about $500 mill is not pocket change. How many are in reserve.

@GO-NAD!.. The other thing the analysis included was the narritive among Trump, Hegseth and Rubio are all different as to reason for war and why it was started when it did. Those three keep contradicting one another. The analysis ended with multiple reasons. The two I remember is ..Israel started and the US followed them in, an 2, Its personal for Trump as two Iranian plots to assissinate Trump were caught by the intelligence community before they could execute them.

They can't prevent their own forces being blown up but they can offer info about ours?

Maybe we need to send a message to Moscow.
What message would you send and how would you deliver that message?

I have watched a lot of news from England- they could have prevented this BS, but were afraid to make people sad, apparently.

Meanwhile, in the US,

A nice basket of flowers with a small audio device playing "If we want you, we'll get you"?

Can't bomb them because they haven't attacked us, directly.

Iran has not attacked the US either.

I do agree with you that a message has to be sent and none would be clearer than the US backing the Ukranians in the war and to cease these insipid peace talks were Ukraine is making all the concessions. Thats the message I would deliver.

Iran has been the largest sponsor of terrorism- our bases, Navy ships and embassies are US soil and they HAVE attacked those, through Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis.

Now that the Ayatollah and most of his leadership are gone, I think Russia may be a bit more aggreable to our persuasion.

The Middle East hasn't been peaceful in more than 2000 years- it's time they give it a try.

Is that why drumphy is trying to outdo them? LOL Russia agreeable to drumphy, that's a given for the most part, they get far more from him this way. As if we're trying for peace there.

Attacked before the war started or after the war started?

Dont be so nieve that Russia is going to listen because the US is winning against a regime with mostly outdated equipment.

The US has a failing grade for regime changes. The Shaw of Iran sponsered by the US was corrupt and gave way to fanatical power that is in Iran now. Afghanistan is now a terrorist state because once more the US meddled but couldnt walk their talk and abandonned it and left it for ISIS to take over. Netanyahu is responsible for the Palestinian holocaust because of Israeli settlement in Palestian territory. Everywhere there is a poop show in the Middle East, the US and Israeli have made their contribution to this poop show. Its time both these countries own up to their mistakes.

Okay. You know we have ELEVEN (11) aircraft battle groups right? We spend more on our military than the next 9 countries COMBINED. Relax, we aren't even close to running out of what's deployed on ONE aircraft carrier. Stop listening to retired military officers on news sites. They're RETIRED. They've been out of the loop for decades in some cases. They get PAID to tell you what they're telling you and right now, fear over stockpiles are what sells. Our military is far more advanced and more lethal than any other on the planet. We're good. Worry about your prostate, or a car crash NOT WWIII.

But hey, what do I know, I'm RETIRED military.
