Crap! If it's not one thing it's another. So my rims show up. Yaaaaaay! But I only get 3 out of the 4. Booooo! The other one should be here tomorrow so I can still get my tires put on tomorrow. Yaaaaaay! I take a closer look at the rims and one of them has overspray of the black paint on the side of the machined area of the wheel. Booooo! Dammit! They're sending me a replacement wheel but now I have to wait another week to put my tires on. Oh well, first world problems.

Anyone else notice the irony?

LOL. Just means they were made there because it is cheaper to do so. Pretty crappy masking, but you probably wouldn't notice it once the tires are on.

I thought you were going to say they showed up and were scratched!

Hey John,

Your guy at Exact is pretty cool. I showed him the wheel and he said to bring him some polishing compound and he'd polish out the paint for me. Nice.

Get Mothers Mag polish. I use it for everything.

John's a good guy. Small shop and has always done right by me so I go to him for as much stuff as I can and send him people when I can. This sounded like the right job for him He is pretty much a full service shop and occasionally has some pretty nice Japanese tuner cars in there like this super rare for the U.S. RHD R32 that was there the last time I was there:

So got the tires put on the new rims last Friday. They look pretty good I guess. I've never liked the "dark wheel on a dark car" look but I figured I'd like these because they've got the polished silver sides. But so far it's just not jumping out at me. Maybe they just need to grow on me. I think I was the same way with the last set.





At least the black should hide the brake dust.

Here's what my wife bought me for my birthday. Going racing in Stockton on the 27th of this month! Can't wait but I'm a little nervous also. I think I'll definitely spring for the insurance just in case something weird happens. Don't want to be stuck with footing the bill to fix a race car.
