Bram Stoker's Dracula (Superbit :D ) The SB is actually a noticable improvement over the previous version. Video is cleaned up and the DTS track is decent.

I really like "Ravenous" its super gory but good. The part I like best is the sound track which does not fit the movie at all so it give the whole package a very strange vibe. Check it out.

Dead Alive.

...widely considered to be one of the goriest movies of all time.
Directed by none other than Peter Jackson of LOTR fame :)

"I kick a$$ for the lord!"

One of my favorites! The lawnmower scene rules.

Phantasm

"Phantasm" (the original). Not great on effects, but suspense is white knuckle (if you're old school and like '70 Cuda's).

Not the best movie, but something keeps making me watch it.

Another old favorite was "the video dead."

The Japanese have traditionally made some excellent horror movies, some based on their folk tales, it is only recently that guys like Sam Raimi have made Hollywood versions of Japanese cult classic horror movies like The Ringu and Ju-On, two of the scariest horror movies to hit the western movie world in recent years. Hopefully there would be more to come, the Ringu itself is a big series and there are many more old and new.

We started off the month by watching the original Alien, which will be followed by the rest of them throughout the month. :)
Before you watch Alien vs. Predator at the end you need to see the Predator movies as well. 2 of my favorite series.

The Young Frankenstine is by no means scary but it is a great Halloween movie.:p

Any of the old B&W horror flicks. Even the Abbott and Costello versions.

But there was one "The Legend of Hell House" with Roddy McDowell that has got to be the scariest movie of all time. All psychological, no splatter scenes.

Very scary...

I just saw that on AMC the other day. Very tense, especially for a movie made in 1971. It kept me on edge.

Another personal favorite, though not really scary, is The nightmare before christmas. I always watch it this time of year.
