Seriously, I have no life.
We live in WI on the WI/IL border. Property tax is reasonable along with house/auto insurance, and health insurance with FULL PAID coverage. Supplemental health, also includes, eyes with full coverage, some co-pay with hearing aids, and some dental. Two free teeth cleanings every 6 mo. We have no complaints. We are 81.

Life is good and our son and daughter families, are there for us, along with other close family, around us. Loads of benefits being surrounded by family and the first to help. YUP, Life is Good.

Note: I sold our then new 2006 Mustang, 3 weeks ago, for asking price. I held off as long as I could. lol
Your property tax is reasonable because you're not in a major city or zip code that's full of idiots doing stupid things. I'm in the latter and the Mayor of our small city has contacted the state and USPS, to change the Zip Code so insurance costs will decrease. If I lived in the Zip Code across the river, my auto insurance would be 35% lower.

That is absolutely correct and in Rock County. My sister-in-law lives Dane County, the furthest south of Madison, in a home in the country, and her taxes are astronomical. We have Acuity Home and Auto Insurance, WI based company. Cincinnati Insurance company might have better rates. Our insurance agent is local.

Wife was raised in Shorewood and me, Whitefish Bay. After I got out of the AF in 67', my first civilian job was in Brown Deer, Badger Meter, Production Control Scheduler. 79' we built our second home and moved to Racine. 2005, moved to Janesville, WI to care for in-laws and retired late 2008.

Back in the late 60's thru 78' we and the kids ate at Kopps. Wife and I, sure miss Kopps burgers, fries, and Malted Milks, Last time, we were back, was around 2015.

Sorry, Stole this thread....All I can say is, we live in a WI. rural county, with the largest city having 70,000 or so, where we live.

We shopped around and ended up dropping USAA auto insurance for the first time in 25 years. Went with State Farm for both auto and home which resulted in pretty big savings on both.
Same here in Colorado Springs, Matt. USAA for 30 years. Switched last year to SF. Saving $3K/yr.
