Hmm, Boycott is a understatement.

Actually-----At one point in my life I would have bought that stamp

EDIT::: Still think it would be a better stamp, than commerating a group of people who attack America - Without putting on the stamp American Muslims..

If you're going to commemorate one religious affiliation, you need to open up and commemerate all of them. It should be all or nothing.

If you open the doors too wide, you may start seeing commemerations of the KKK. Any type of hate group should be avoided.

you are about 4 years to late with your protest. how long since first class mail was 34 cents? this stamp was issued sept. 1, 2001. i don't think that you will find it at your local post office!

Similarly remember all of the things Christianity has done to the world in the name of THEIR God. Remember, this is America. Freedom of religion...

jaxvon has it right...

A personal view on this... painting people with the same brush just because they share a race, creed, colour or religion with a small minority that commit terrible acts is narrow minded and counter productive. I though we here in North America have spent the last 200+ years trying to get past that...

The last time I checked we all bleed the same colour...

I just think it's ironic that there are lawsuits to remove any trace of Judeo-Christian imagery and language yet the government is bending over backwards to give Islam some press. Remember, there are literally dozens of pending lawsuits trying to get the Pledge out of schools, the "In God We Trust" off our money and the Ten Commandments out of our courthouses. So why throw gas on the fire by "honoring" yet another religion?

I also think it's ironic that "our" religion is viewed by many Americans to be "bad," but other religions, especially Eastern ones, are fashionable. It's basically the same psychology that causes children to view their own parents as tyrants, I think.

Very well said Rob. Also for a previous poster. By chance (and this does make me mad) The stamp I showed was from a internet site that is devoted to Muslim. And that is where the stamp was redone. However before you posted that I did not even look at it. The problem is, that they (whom-ever) at the Muslim site changed the stamp, to show a commerative of the year 2001. So I had to get the real stamp from the USPS. So what that is showing me is that they (alledgedly Non American) Muslims even on a website is rubbing in the 9/11/2001 attack. NOW I FOUND THAT MORE THAN ODD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I really have to show the Muslim site I will.

Clearly, a good portion of (??non American?? ) Muslim groups think that the 9/11 was something to cheer about.

BINGO! Praise Allah, someone finally gets it.

The 'In God We Trust' and 'Under God' were both added to our governement through direct intervention of Christian churches to the government. If a Jewish member asked for something different, or a Buddhist, or a Muslim asked for something different, it wouldn't be considered. But, the Christians are most definitely worth making a national motto for as well as changing our national pledge for.

This nation thrives on prejudices so old we wouldn't know how to live without them and all those who read the words at the bottom of the Statue of Liberty and are foolish enough to believe them are in for a rude awakening very quickly.

Prejudice is far from dead and stupidity runs amok. Those who are willing to actually help others to overcome and become better are most definitely NOT the ones who are ever in control.

No, the ones in control are middle aged, white, male, christians.

Welcome to America - please line up with the other sheep - thanks.

It's just stamp to you because it doesn't hit one of your hot buttons. (furrycute - I'm not singling you out, just speaking to all that think this isn't worth getting upset about).

It is soooo funny to watch you guys fly off the handle when something is said that "hits home" with you, but when it's one of those topics you don't care about you tell everyone else to calm down and get over it. I've been on this forum now long enough to see all the regulars (and many others), including myself, do this. This is such an odd behavior and very hypocritical, yet it seems to happen time and time again.

If someone is upset that there is a stamp commemorating the suicide bombers of 9/11, then who the hell do any of us think we are to tell them they are wrong. Maybe if one of your family died in one of the incidents mentioned, you would have a different mindset.

This stamp is not about religion. If the translation is correct then it basically says REMEMBER ALL THE MUSLIMS THAT GAVE THEIR LIVES TO KILL AMERICANS. Why as an American (catholic, christian, muslim or other) would you want to buy this stamp then? Aren't you an American regardless of your religion? There is no other stamp that I am aware of that tells you to honor the killing of Americans by any other group, religious or other.

This is political correctness gone too far. We have to be sensitive to all the minority groups and all those "whitey" are trying to surpress. Give me a break.

I don't care about this stamp. I don't care about a lot of things that most people get worked up about day after day. But if someone wants to get upset because there is a stamp that honors the killing of Americans (the country we live in and love), I certainly am not arrogant enough to think I am correct in telling them they are wrong.

Wait until they release a stamp that strikes a nerve with you. Then I'll see you right back here in the steam vent throwing your very own conniption fit. Let's better ourselves and stop being so hypocritical and judgemental on this forum. I'll try to do the same.

Give it a few years, and you can change male to female if we elect Hilary.

BTW, what's up with this Commander in Chief with Geena Davis show? Is this supposed to prep America for the coming of NOW running the nation.

Yes, it's just a stamp. (picture the Animal House trial seen)

But a stamp is a form of official government documentation. It's a form of taxation/payment for a service the government is performing for you. There have been many stamps from many governments that are offensive to certain people. Take a look at stamps (and not just American) from the war eras. A stamp was one of the most distributed forms of communication the government had with the masses. Long before television and radio a simple stamp or trip to the post office to buy one was the only way the government had to communicate with the masses (10 most wanted posters, buy war bonds?). So an attack on the stamp is an attack on the American way of life. And I can't stand here for an attack on the American way of life. (now we all parade out of the room behind Bluto)

SERIOUSLY
Right or wrong in your views......a stamp is still just another method of an official government to communicate with the masses. In most cases a stamp's artwork has been backed by some interrest group. (Elvis, Snoopy, etc.?)

Now where's my burning goat head!
