All,
I'm not especially savvy when it comes to home audio/video technology, so I feel compelled to run this past you all as I'm becoming a bit overwhelmed with all of the various accronyms flying through my head right now.
Basically, I already have a HK AVR-347 and have been happy with it. I am looking to upgrade to a Blu-Ray player soon. I would love to be able to enjoy the new "lossless" audio technologies of DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD.
I understand that my AVR-347 does not decode these audio formats internally, so I will need a Blu-Ray player that does the decoding for it. For that reason, I was leaning towards the BDP-S550 from Sony.
I believe this will allow me to listen to DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD over an HDMI connection. Am I correct in this assessment? I don't want to make a purchase and THEN find out that I can't listen to these audio formats.
Thanks in advance.
