Seems like they would be pretty good if you had matching JBL screen array/cinema type speakers as fronts for a dedicated theater. Not sure I'd want them in my living room though...

They come with black grills. Basically a square black box speaker with black grills.

You don't think the on-axis & off-axis frequency responses are good enough for front speakers? I thought the graphs looked pretty good.

On/off axis looks pretty good horizontally, though the vertical off axis breaks up pretty good 1K-3K.

I think the bigger issue is how to mount these properly as L/R's with that 20 degree front baffle tilt (unless you want to mount them up high, pointing down to your listening position). You would need some sort of custom mounting solution to get it flat, but then you'd have to worry about the crossover not working as well without the baffle tilt.

They are designed to be surrounds, and I don't think it would be worth it to monkey around with them to repurpose them as fronts.

Plus, I'd still rather have the LSR 6332's

ehhhh.... I'm not quite sure what to make of those. They look huge, but according to the documents, it's 27.4" x 6.7" x 9.3" HWD. And, I found this part of the spec sheet interesting:

It is ideal for applications such as performance auditoriums, lecture halls, classrooms, A/V, transit centers, school stadiums, multipurpose spaces, racetracks, theme parks, and fill applications, among many others.

So, where you planning to put those ADTG? Theme park, performance auditorium, or racetrack?

Well, Don Keele's CBT design (Parts Express) and few other CBT were talked a lot about here & AVS. I didn't realize they were high efficiency speakers. Just curious.

They're 93db in the midrange, and being a line source they fall off at 3db for every doubling of distance instead of 6db/doubling of distance. I would say they are rather efficient speakers, except in the high treble where power demands are low.

Horns, they are not. Their horizontal dispersion is probably as wide or wider than the philharmonics and salon2s.

I think they would count as both, seeing as they have both "ribbon" and "horns" in the name.

A ribbon mounted in a waveguide would be interesting though...

For some reasons, I always thought "horns" were compression driver horns.

I guess CD horns have more SPL whereas ribbon horns have more details / resolution?

Some people think the $395 SHO-10 sounds as good as the $3,000 GedLee Abbey. Well, they say "90%" of the Abbey.

And that makes the SHO-10 extremely attractive! So I would get the SHO-10. Although, I think they may be too good for just surrounds.

I'm thinking the SHO-10 may sound so good, you may end up making them your mains and get 3 more for identical SHO-10 x 5.

It's like having 5 Abbey speakers all around.
