first of all i would like to say hi to everyone and to say a big thank you for all the future help im hoping to get here.

now lets get down to business.......

i just moved into a house and am currently trying to install a bose V20 system with a 46" Sony Bravia and for the time being im trying to use the blu-ray off my PS3.

ive used the high def cables from the PS3 into the TV (input 6) and then another high def cable from the "brain" of the V20 into the TV (input 7 ).

here is the prob, i cant seem to get any kind of surround sound when using the PS3, whether it is for movies or games.

i have sound ( with static from the radio channel) and that is all.

when i turn on the receiver (brain of the system) it tells me to "choose TV input channel). when i turn from input 6 ( where my PS3 is on) to input 7 (where the V20 HD cable is on) i get a purple screen and no sound.

what the heck am i doing wrong.

thanks

First and foremost, welcome to AH!

To answer your questions, I would think you need to plug the PS3 into the V20, and then run that to your TV. I'm no Bose expert, but the V20 should process the audio and send video on to the TV.

What do you mean by hi-def cables? Is your video cable three colors, and then using another RCA cable or optical cable for surround sound?

Actually looks like the V20 can do HDMI...are you using HDMI cables? If so that tends to simplify things (at least physically). HDMI between PS3 and V20 control unit, and then HDMI from V20 to your Sony.
