I recently bought a Denon AVR-2805 and am having some problems setting it up. I cannot get the digital audio inputs to work - if anyone out there is familiar with this model I would really appreciate some assistance. I tried e-mailing Denon but have not gotten a response. I purchased it late last winter in anticipation of moving into our new house - got it on sale at a vendor out of state while on a trip so can't go back to them for help.

For starters I have mapped the digital audio inputs to the audio inputs, I have all new cables and yes even remembered to take the rubber ends off of them :D .....I know the speakers work because I can generate test tones in the speaker config section, and I can plug in analog cables from the source and get sound. I have 4 devices plugged into the Denon and none of them will do digital audio.....

Thanks for any help in advance!!!!!!

Have you enabled the digital out on your other pieces of home cinema kit?

Yes I have done that on the devices that require it (DVD player) my other three devices (DirecTivo, XBox and D-Link Media Center) don't require any additional setup...

On a side note Denon's Customer Service SUCKS...I sent an email 4 days ago and still no response.....

One other thing (that makes me think there is something wrong with the unit) I cannot get it to generate any test-tones when I try and use the Auto Room EQ function.....

before blaming customer service hell, let's all remember that emails are easily filtered as spam or otherwise lost in the neverland we call the 'net. This problem is in both directions.... Inbound and Outbound.

Then, there is the stupid, let's assign the email to Mary, for her to handle.

By the way, Mary went on Maternity leave last Friday.

Well in this case I think its poor CS....three e-mails in two weeks have gone un-confirmed and un-answered. I mean why advertise an e-mail addie if you are not going to reply?
