Hi, I just booked up a pair of Mordaunt Short 902i's and 906i's and before I could get to the local shop in time, they sold the last 905c! Does anyone know where I can purchase this item in North America?

Help would be much appreciated...If I can't find this, I will most likely sell the models I have and upgrade completely to the Aviano series but I am really hoping I dont have to do that!

Thanks.

Here is the US dealer page fro Mordaunt Short

I have found out that the speaker is NLA and no one seems to have any. However it is replaced by the 905i in the Avant range. As far as I can tell it is the same speaker, and I would order one of those.

Thank you very much, I was told that only the 905c would be the only appropriate match. Ill definitely give the 905i a look.

Im trying to be careful as their are many posts that discuss how important matching the fronts and center is.

That is true to a point, however matching is actually error matching. Really good speakers of any type all match.

Mordaunt Short are above the pack, although these speakers are not the top line, but I would be surprised of they did not match well.

I can tell you one thing, I was recently visiting friends in Canada where they had a pro installed system from a famous manufacturer, with all speakers from the same series. The center did not blend at all, and stood out like a sore thumb, so even that is no guarantee.

I could probably demo the 905i as see how it sounds with some 906i's.

I was debating just saving up a bit more cash and getting the Aviano6 and Aviano 5 centre if I cant find the 905c and the 905i doesn't sound very good.

The 902i's I have are pretty versatile.

Would you recommend looking for anything in particular when testing out the 905i?

You just need to make sure there is a seamless blend going across the stage. The Avianos would be an upgrade.
