I wonder if the EP2500 is bad? You have the AVR sub trim all the way up and you have tried bypassing the 2496?
Thanks for all of the input everyone, but after doing some reading I think I just may chuck everything and keep it simple. So, would the O Audio 500W amp be a good match?

With the 2496 bypassed I still have the same issue spot on.
I hate to throw the simplest of ideas out there but it just worked for me,I never knew that my receiver will not increase the out put of the sub unless my fronts are set to small and the lfe is off, only then could I access the sub settings and see, hear and feel a difference.

How would I go about checking the output voltage of an RCA pre-out?
I have an H/K AVR 430. I couldn't find the info in the manual.

I would imagine with a voltmeter or multimeter??
Hi tcarcio,

AC or DC? Positive lead where? Do I need to run a test tone through with my speakers disconnected? The spec on my amp (your amp) says I need 0.96 volts for max power. Would my H/K pre outs already be putting that much out already?

Edit: Just a note on that Samson thing mentioned by WmAx and seconded by tcarcio. I think we all know WmAx's reputation and I saw that tcarcio has that unit plus at least two other kinds in his system. Those are pretty strong indicators of where your solution lies. Now I am still kind of curious about the ones that limit the frequency.

Thanks for the tip, but I am good to go on those ideas already. I did however order the Samson. Hopefully this will be the ticket. :)
