My experience, and my brother's, with similar Pioneer avrs makes me omit them from consideration altogether, even new let alone used (both of ours failed in just a bit more than 2 years use). The QSC amp should yield any issues in your 30 day period and is less risk down the road IMO.

So it sounds like you want the extra volume to achieve the proper balance of bass. For that reason, I would suggest you look for a used Yamaha and make certain it has their loudness knob. Lots of older units had loudness buttons, but they are a crap shoot as they were often over-blown, which is as bad as not enough. The knob lets you tune it.
