I I am new here. I am going to buy a flat panel and a audio system to go with it. There are so many options I guess I'll level my self on the price (2,000). I am looking at a Sony BRAVIA XBR Series KDL-40XBR9 40-Inch 1080p 240Hz LCD HDTV and a Sony BDVIS1000 5.1Ch Blu-ray Disc/DVD Home Theater System. The whole thing is about 2,000.

I heard some bad news about the Sony BDVIS1000, speakers too small, not working well. Do you have a good recomendation for a sound system or TV. I am pretty set on the Bravia screen but no the audio. It does have to be blue ray and wireless.

Thank you

I recommend that you keep the budget for the TV and HTIB seperate. There are much better HTIB's out there than the Sony one.

These offerings on Accessories4Less are great value for money,
$550 Package
$650 Package
$900 Package

With all three packages you will need to add your own BD Player. The Oppo BDP-83 is as good as it gets. It's SQ and PQ is on par with players costing much more and it is by far the best in class.

I would not get any speakers from Sony or Bose.

If I wanted something smaller in size and budget, I would go for SVS, HSU Research, or Aperion Audio.

Get 5 Identical Bookshelf Speakers + 1 Subwoofer.:D

Get a big screen TV - size does matter. :D
Get a BD player (Panasonic, Sony, etc.)
Get a separate Receiver (Yamaha, Denon, etc.).
Get a separate Speaker System.
