Whats the most effective way of isolating my speaker and video wires from the powercords coming from the tv and receiver.

I have a sharp aquos lcd tv and I notice that the picture gets fuzzy if the powercords are close to the component cables. Apart from using shielded cables and physically keeping the cables a couple inches apart, do I have any other option? Why manufacturers of A/V furniture don't put more than 1 hole through the back per shelf is beyond me. They expect 7 speaker wires, 5cables and a powercord to come through 1 hole without causing a problem?

You need physical separation. Can you drill a hole on that shelf space in the back to one side?

Thanks for your response. I did actually drill three holes today for DVD, PS2 and cable. It's definitely better pic now. Can't wait for verizon fios cable service, now that's a sharp picture!

I do a couple of these a week. You can use coax cable clips and nail them to the back of the stand to anchor one power wire then use velcro wraps to secure all the power wires together do the same with the interconnects. If the wire types must cross (power vs interconnects) do so at 90 degrees and put a piece of pipe insulation between them.

They sell furniture, not audio equipment.
