Building a new house and trying to decide what to do in the main living area upstairs. Room is an acoustical nightmare 1300 sq ft with 12 ft ceilings. TV will be above the fireplace with built in shelves on the sides. I will eventually have the "big boy" system in the basement and will go all out there but thats another day. I have def tech floor speakers but wife doesnt want them upstairs. I can put speakers on the shelves but need to wire them ow if thats what I decide to do. I've also checked out the "on wall" and soundbars but have no experience with them. I dont need this system to be amazing, like I said I'll have the big system in the basement. I'd ike to have something upstairs though for ipod/radio etc. What do you think?

Thanks!

Matt

It sounds like small "bookshelf" speakers and a subwoofer would be the best way to go. There are too many combinations for me to list here that would work fine together. Just don't go crazy and buy a monster subwoofer. A good 10 or 12 inch subwoofer should be more an adequate.
