anyone have any help with 3 zone amp selection. Setting up a family room w/ good quality audio, (ARCAM CD36, ARCAM A32 and Anthony Gallo reference 3.1 speakers). Want to add music in three other zones, two adjoining. Thinking of driving a marantz ZS5300 6 channel amp to power Anthony Gallo in ceiling speakers in the kitchen and living room and something else outside deck. Want to be able to control volume from amp. Everything I find except the Marantz is controlled through key pads or IR.

will feed both amps from DVD but no other sources. Not concerned with different source to different zone.

My goal is hi quality audio in the family room with the ARCAM and Anthony Gallo set up along with good background music in the pother rooms. Fidelity in the other rooms is not as important as in the family room.

Other choices than the Marantz????

whats your budget? when you say control every thing from amp, from what amp? could you list the exact thought on layout, ie number of speakers in each zone, exactly what kind of control do you want, ect

Distributed audio.

A 100+ Watt/channel stereo amp with impedance matching speaker selector of impedance matching VCs in each room would work well for your application. Look for an amp or integrated amp with VC if you are not able to adjust the line level output from the receiver to the "Zone Amp". A pro amp would work fine, but based on your other gear you might want something that looks nicer on your rack.

I am not sure when this Emotiva product will be out. If you want a seperate VC for each room, you could buy 3 of them:

the main system is the ARCAM CD and integrated amp w/ Anthony Gallos. The satellite or other three zones are each separate but adjoining rooms. Two speakers each and my goal is to control line output from the satellite amp, but not from an add on VC.

I will only use the other three zones as background music. The sources for the satellite / other zones will be the CD player or TV. No receiver.

need options for the satellite amp.

Thanks for the help

Amp options

The use of the impdance matching speaker selector will allow you to use any stereo or integrated amp instead of a 6 channel one. Also, unless you have a variable line level output from the DVD/CD player, you will need some way to adjust the volume in the signal chain for the 3 extra rooms.

If you want a seperate amp channel for each speaker, I have had good results with the Emotiva LPA-1 6 channel x 125 Watt amp. It is reasonable priced at $500.
