Help choosing between Subs

Im looking at the PC-Plus. Remember I am trying to stay around 1k and I just don't think the difference from PC-Plus to Ultra is going to be worth the extra $450. Considering an extra 450 is a big jump out of my budget.
I would agree with you, especially now that the PC-Plus line amplifiers have the single band parametric equalizers. Very nice. The 16-46 PC-Plus looks very capable.

I take it the cylinder is more than capable of dealing out bass that you can feel then?
In my room...most definitely. In fact, shortly after I had gotten my PC-Ultra and calibrated it, I put in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. It was the first time that I'd ever watched the scene where Brad Pitt is driving the dune buggy that I felt the dune buggy land on the ground after a jump. I couldn't stop grinning.

SVS should certainly be able to help you with the max SPL of one of their subs in your room. At least, I think that they could do that.

Well the woman put a big veto stamp on the PC 16-46 because it is an eyesore.

I think things are narrowing down to an HSU VTF3 MK3 with turbocharger.

I haven't gotten anyone to say anything good about the EP500 so I think that one is out of the running and I have heard mixed reviews about the MFW15.

Actually mazers I haven't run the turbo part by her either. Personally I think the sub looks terrible with the turbo also!

I started thinking about doing dual outlaw subs last night. The price is right and all the other subs I am looking at would be way too expensive to double up on.

Opinions on outlaw subs anyone?

I just called up Outlaw and got quotes on duals.

2x LFM-1 EX shipped is 1345.45

2x LFM-1 Plus shipped is 1135.06

The plus is in my price range and the EX is a little bit out of it but I can cover it easily. I think I would be obligated to go with the EX otherwise I would allways wonder how much better dual ex's woulda been.

I've heard good things about them but I have never listened to one.

I'm still thinking DIY is the way to go. There are several "kits" you could look into that greatly reduce the amount of effort you would have to put in that solution. Also, there are a ton of DIYers out there that will help you figure out what you need to make a great option. Heck, you can pick up a driver and I bet somebody else will design the box for you. After that you can get most places like Home Depot or Lowes to make the wood cuts for you and then you are only putting it together. It's considerably cheaper but of course it is more difficult to make them look purty! I would have gone DIY but the wife wouldn't let me...of course, if we would have had to pay the shipping prices you have to put up with than I think she would have reconsidered.

On the other hand, I still think any one of the choices you are looking into are good options. I'm not sure if any of them stands head and shoulders over the other. They are all great performers for the price.

Made my decision!!!!!!

Well I weighed things out as thoroughly as I feel I could and just pulled the trigger on an Outlaw LFM-1 EX. I only bought one because I figured I would test the waters with one first and not break the bank. Not to mention I am not sure how I feel about having to rearrange furniture to accomodate a dual sub setup in my living room.

As a bonus though they hooked me up with shipping to my work since I work with the government and had it shipped to my work I got my shipping rate reduced to only $120.00 all the way to Alaska!!!!!

Oh and since I saved so much cash I can get new Skis on my snomobile this year :D

Didn't think you guys had snowmobiles up there.

I was thinking

So much for new skis on my sled!! We went to the furniture store yesterday not really looking and I stumbled upon my dream entertainment center. I finally found something that will be able to hold my seperates, cable box, xbox ect and it has the coolest storage for DVDs I think I have ever seen.

The doors on both sides swing open but they take half of the shelf with it kinda like if you have shelves that let you store milk in your fridge door. There are 3 shelves inside the cabinet and 3 in the door about 10" wide so theres a total of 12 10" wide DVD shelves in there!!!

Not to mention that this will be the solution that gets me away from the AV rack I put together at Lowes which served the purpose but left about a million wires exposed.

The new sub and entertainment center will be here soon... Before and after pics will be posted!
