Rega are still proudly British!
I can see how they can make a profit with models like the NAIA, priced at £9,999 without a cartridge, £12K with and lower than the original at £30K. There's a lot more competition in the $500 range.
The key is to make products that won't be submarined by China, just to make the company into a buyout target. I would guess that REGA and many other brands don't sell enough to interest them. That's not a bad thing if they can remain intact as a company, though. Besides- the US-China relationship is far more adversarial, IMO.
