HDMI Cables..........?

I have that optical cable Adam linked. It is a neat looking little thing, plus it's very flexible and easy to work with. Plus plus, I think it would be hard to break the glass fibre with the braiding around it. No issues with performance, as you would expect.

One thing I have found with Monoprice cable is that they can be a bit inflexible, especially the component RCA cable I'm using. Every time I plug it in or move the equipment, I think I'm going to break the RCA socket off the receiver. The HDMI cables are not near that rigid. They are easy to work with.
Dave, I have had the same problem with the RG6 cabling from monoprice. I do like the Dayton cabling I got from partsexpress much better. However, it comes down to the v1.3a spec that I am worried about. It looks like most of the v1.3a speced hdmi cables are in long lengths. Lastly, are the glass optical cables that much better than say standard optical cables? Thanks for posting.

Cheers,

Phil

Rg59 cables are flexiable and good for runs under 30'. I prefer to make my own:D There are some locking proprietary hdmi cables comming to market if needed.
Hey Band, how exactly do you make your own? I assume that takes a certain level of skill that I probably don't have.......LOL! :p:p Just curious is all. Who knows, maybe I could learn how. Thanks for posting.

Hmm, I haven't given much thought to what's actually inside an optical cable. I've always had the impression it was a glass filament. Maybe they are all plastic inside. I just don't know. Today is a good day for me to learn something new.

Seriously, I have no life.
... The sub cables are just like cable or RG6 and I was looking for something a bit better. The RG6 is hard to work with. Other than that, I agree monoprice is a great place to get cabling from. Thanks for your suggestions.

Cheers,

Phil
Next time just get some video cables. Usually, they are flexible.
And, in video cables, especially for sub application, you really don't need to spend much.

Well, at least i asked the right question then.........LOL!!!! ;);) It is good if we all can learn something here. I just noticed they are much more expensive. The question is-would I really be gaining much? My guess is probably not. But, I do admit I could be wrong on this one. ;);)
