HD-DVD to Blu turnaround time?

I'm wondering how long it will take to see Univ & Paramount movies in Blu-ray?

American Gangster makes a good test case....................

It was just released today on HD-DVD.......... any over/unders on how long it will take to see this released on Blu-ray? How many weeks before we actually see day/date releases on blu-discs in stores?

The HD DVD transfer of American Gangster is getting awful reviews for both picture and sound. The disc is a poor 1.85 transfer and does not include a lossless audio track. Supposedly the SD version is much better b/c at least you get extras.

I realize that biggies like Transformers, Bourne, etc, etc, etc....will all be re-released on BD at some point(probably later this year). To be honest, I don't care so much about the re-release of existing titles because I plan to only replace a very select few DVD's.

Fresh new day/date releases is where it's at for me.....

I'm interested mainly in how long the transitional period will be before Paramount/Univ ramp up the current day/date releases on BD. The good news is neither studio has released crap worthy of buying over the past several months...LOL Transformers and B. Ultimatum are the only two that were anything of note over the past several months. Todays release of American Gangster is the first decent release in quite some time....for the format formerly known as HD-DVD

The two I want to be sure to pick up on BD are going to be There Will Be Blood and Sweeney Todd....Hopefully the dates won't be pushed back too dramatically.

He was just using shorthand for the fact that the movie has a 1.85:1 aspect ratio and (what sounds like) they didn't do a great telecine (probably the colorist's fault) and encode.
