Even if they don't price match, I'll just return it for a full refund, and be without HD-DVD... after all, I'll have a PS3 very soon, so Bluray will be ok with me, but if I can have both, then why not.

I don't care, I don't have a 1080p tv, and only have HDMI 1.1 on my reciever, so I'll take the audio via PCM.

Exactly. Who would not want BOTH? Nobody. Everyone wants both. They don't call us audioholics for nothing!:D

For $100 though, that is OK. I might have to get over there and see if I can pick one up.

There's a Wal-Mart right by my work at McCarthy Ranch. I might swing by on my lunch hour.

Just got back... they don't have any out right now, but they did confirm that they would be available in the morning. So I already talked to my room mate and she will be going to walmart first thing in the morning for me, so hopefully there won't be any issues with me getting one.

Thank god my walmart is pretty secluded and it's in a nice part of town where most people don't care about bargain shopping. But since I pass it on my way to work I will just stop by tomorrow morning and pick one up. Don't really think there will be a line at 8am to get one.

It is probably a supercenter so it's 24 hours. I think walmart stopped opening non-supercenters a while back.

Before you start flaming do your own research ... ok??

When I searched for "98$" I got 0 hits. 98$ is the price of the item. Therefore it makes sense that MAYBE nobody knows. I was just trying to be helpful .... no good deed goes unpunished.

As far as posting to the forum goes there are plenty of price discussions here so I don't think that this is a horrid forum to post the subject to ... it is afterall a HD-DVD hardware forum ... right?
lol....Andrew got in trouble...

It does seem Alamar is correct...this is the CD forum...;)

I think Best Buy is out of stock. They have them on their website for $99 but it's for store pickup only, and there are none available at any of my local, or even semi-local stores.

Even store pick-up shows out of stock now.

Just got back from two Wal-Marts here in San Antonio and they didn't have any HD players and weren't aware of this special.

I'll skip the HD-A2 since it's not 1080P and doesn't have 5.1 analog outputs.
Because it does 1080i, is not a reason to pass it up.
As very little can be seen from 1080i/p. (personally, I see no better smoothness)
But the 5.1 analog, is something I would want as well. (actually want 7.1 analog with the A35, at least until I get another AVR)

It is a great price, and I will probably pick one up for my brother (X-mas).

Currently having one, I will say it is not the best player, when compared to the other players I have.
But the difference is so minimal, nothing that would stop me from buying it again.

Also, this will still work with the 5 free deal.
(some people claimed the deal was over on the 31st (of last month), that is not true.)
See PDF file.
Works with all Toshiba HD DVD players
As well, has the correct date for this sale.
Buy a player from 10/1/07 to 2/28/08
Postmark by 3/31/08
Although, crappy movies to choose from. But hey they are free (just don't expect them in a month, try more like 4 months)
