If you go to Yamaha's website, there is a FAQ there listed as "what are the differences between a HTR series and RXV series?" There's a really long, politically correct, round about answer that basically states....not much. They only do this to try to prevent apples to apples comparision shopping, so they can sell each line to a different retailer. Many other manufacturers do the same. As I understand it, the 5790 the 1500 are identical guts wise. Rated different yes, internals, the same.
