Hi
I need advice on what I could use to "color" my speaker grill cloth with.
The sun has faded the cloth on my Energy Towers and I don't want to replace the cloth. Is there something that I could spray, apply to the cloth that would dye, color them back to the classic 'black' I want and love ?
Look forward to the knowledge that this list has to offer.
Thanks
DMcV
PS the grill can be removed

The grills are there for acoustic reasons. I would be afraid of (clogging) the grills, and altering the speakers sound.

I have heard of a paint that is more of a dye.. that will be safe for your grills.

I don't remember where I saw this info, but it is available... :)

You should read the label to be sure but I would be willing to bet that the dyes that are sold in the laundry aisle of the grocery store will work just fine on any cotton based fabric.

It depends what material your grilles are made of. If it's cotton based they're easy to dye. If it's nylon based, you might be out of luck. If that's the case, why not replace the fabric, go online, you can find speaker cloth in all colors.
