The genre doesn’t matter. Does it sound amazing? That is the real question.

Ha! Where to start?!

I'll share some good quality recordings that I used when auditioning speakers last year. I love sound (audiophile?), and these are a few of my favorites from my sessions in 2018:

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds; And No More Shall We Part:
Love Letter https://tidal.com/browse/track/63888899
The Sorrowful Wife
Fiona Apple; When The Pawn...
Paper Bag https://tidal.com/browse/track/1781119

Tori Amos; Boys For Pele
Talula https://tidal.com/browse/track/66811210
Tori Amos; From the Choirgirl Hotel
Northern Lad https://tidal.com/browse/track/4074164

Joe Lovano; From the Soul
Evolution https://tidal.com/browse/track/2451697

Gorillaz; Laika Come Home
Jungle Fresh https://tidal.com/browse/track/1438321

And then something I came across after, but quickly became one of my favorite albums to listen to start to finish:
Melody Gardot; Currency of Man (Artist's Cut)

Hope you have the chance to explore and, maybe, enjoy!

Cheers!

Anything Melody Gardot is worth a listen.

I also love listening to Joni Mitchell’s “Blue” - just great bare vocals sung by an unparalleled singer

Thank you for the recommendations everyone.

I’ve slowed down on listening to old favorites that have poor sound quality and have been favoring some off the wall stuff that has superb sounds.

Here’s a couple favorites if anyone cares to give a listen.

Carina Round is a phenomenal vocalist!

Agreed with Blue - superb female vocals. :)

And some of the tried and true audiophile collections used to sell high end systems back in the day :
Friday Night in San Francisco wonderful acoustic guitar
Weather Report Heavy Weather nice upbeat jazz fusion from the late 70s
Jazz at the Pawnshop superbly recorded live jazz at a small venue.
But remember great recordings don't always equal great music.
For example I much prefer the Dave Brubeck version of Take 5 to the Jazz at the Pawnshops.
