Got my projector today!

It was worth every penny. I am totally blown away. I was on a 27 inch CRT TV and now am on an entire white wall.

I am a little handy so I grabbed an old Optoma EP719 for around 100 with most of it's lamp life used up, but it works wonders.

I am converted!

And it's so much lighter than my tv too. LOL

It's about 110 inches, I have around an 82 inch view for widescreen and 90 inches if I run it in 4:3

I'm thinking if I move it up and table mount it. I can get the screen down to a more managable size. I have tiredness on the upper part of my eyesocket. So I am thinking bring down the picture will help as well.

I doubt it's the color wheel. I haven't noticed a rainbow effect.

It's two times the aspect I am supposed to sit back correct?

The only real rule is personal preference. Which will be swayed by the choice of AR and native resolution of source.

FWIW, many persons that use 2.40:1 screens sit only one width away.

It does sound like moving back might help you out though? The choice of movie plays a part too. My brother was feeling a bit funky when watching Bourne Supremacy, but that camera work is all over the place. He's seen countless movies at my place, without issue, otherwise.

Turns out it was a matter of image height. I brought down the picture and haven't had a problem.

My eyes don't like looking up. The positive thing is I learned some eye strain reduction exercises that help at work lol!

My friend just installed one for an uber rich guy. It's an insane job, and that's just part of it, $500,000k. He's been picking my brain in deciding how to make it all look and work. I might accompany them on a visit soon!

He's already done work for three mistresses, wife, and son!

JLA speakers, and JVC Pj it seems, though now they might go SIM, (they were considering Runco, but I started yelling at him).

I've shared photos with the installer, and so far he thinks the customer will like something like this, an elaborate type of setup.

That issue has been resolved. The screen was simply too high. When I brought it down it helped a lot. but my room is completely different now.

Next step is to build new front speakers and my subs.

I won't buy a new PJ for a couple years probably. May even try my hand at a DIY just for fun.

Yeah it's just so awesome. Many of my friends and family have LCD 1080p's and my cheap PJ actually has comparable PQ one of my friends says it looks better than his LCD tv. Size really does matter.

But your living room seems to be a poor place for one. Sadly. If I were buying a tv I would get a DLP 73". I think it's the best bang for the buck.
