Your friend has a real issue, becausd with such a big investment in a 'holiday home' he has no choice when it comes to vacations. He's limited to his boat and the distance he can travel within a limited time... He will never bd able to go to, say Bora Bora on vacation.

Thats exactly how I feel, if I want to go to brazil or Vermont, I can choose, with a half million dollar boat sitting there, you would be silly to not use it every chance you get, like I said he is in a different income bracket than me, I would imagine his company earns "profits" in the mid six figures per year and thats after paying him and his wife over 100K each for being pres and vp... So like I said his kids are through school, just him and his wife, homes paid for, money not an issue, the boat is nice, but even all that considered, you need that kind of money to have a boat like that, a few friends of mine have small boats 30 footers that cost $10-20K a year, after paying for a slip, fuel, transport, storage, winterizing, service, wrapping, ect... I guess I enjoy the motorcycles too much... we all have our hobbies, boats just never did it for me.. Although I like looking at them, at the marina near my shop, there are some beautiful boats..
