I went over to check them out this morning--turns out the seller is only about 2 miles from my place. The speakers look perfect, no blemishes whatsoever AND it turned out the M22's are the V2 (latest?) model and not the earlier ti's that I thought. So I bought them. He had a Polk RM6000 which is a very inexpensive sub that he threw in for $25, so I'll have something to get started with.
He also included a box very high-quality cables for hooking everything up and the Axiom wall-mount brackets.
He is having a "fire sale" on his whole system, which includes an older Sony WEGA 50" LCD RP TV and an Outlaw 7075 amp and 970 pre/pro. He said $300 for the Outlaws and maybe $700 for the TV, but I think I'm going to stick with my plan to get a Denon 1909/Yamaha 663 or possibly something a little better. He confessed that the Outlaw pre/pro was pretty finiky and out of date. The TV actually look pretty darn nice, though so I might consider that as at least an interim solution.
I'd better keep moving so I can hook up these Axioms to something and see what I've got here.
