I've got a 10" at home and two 10" in my truck. I've found Nonpoint's "Alive and Kicking" very challenging. On the subs and the tweeters.
Almost anything by Korn works as well.

Just saw this and props for this one.

Mike Patton what a ****ing genius.

Dono
Wow I never would have guessed that was Mike Patton from Faith No More.

I didn't really care for any of that material on that MySpace page save for the Mojo song.

I know Thunderfingers and the Who have been mentioned, but I'll throw this song into the mix.

Seriously, I have no life.
I'm not sure if you are mostly talking tight bass playing, or tight bass tone, or some combination of the two, but here are a few that come to mind:

- I've always liked focusing in on Paul McCartney's bass lines, as I think he is pretty melodic, has a nice tone, etc. Even when it isn't too intricate of a part, it's always tasteful.

- John Entwistle's work on Who's Next

- Jack Bruce on any number of Cream songs. Bass played like a lead guitar, with one good example being the back-and-forth between him and Clapton on "Crossroads"
I don't think Jack Bruce has ever been accused of playing clean bass, in terms of his sound. When it's not distorted, it's fretless and that usually has a bit of buzz to it. OTOH, that's what I like about his sound.

Bassotronics--- Bass I love you

BassPatrol----- Let The Bass Blow

Chevelle ----- Comfortable Liar

Smoov-E ------ Lit Like Zippo Ft.Equipto

Lil wayne ----- King Kong

These songs are all bass heavy, Basstronics's infamouse song let the bass blow hits really hard. They specialize in soundtracks that make your sub pound. The same for basspatrol, Chevelle which is a hard rock band their song comfortable lier has a low note every couple of secs. check any of the songs i provided there all about bass

Cake - The Distance

There is a very subtle, but distinct, deep bass line throughout the song.

Should give your sub a good workout.

EDIT: Cake has a free sample clip of the song on their website:

http://www.cakemusic.com/songs/fashion/the_distance.mp3

That should give you a good idea of how it sounds.

Most anything by McCartney, Bruce, Entwistle, Levin, Victor Wooten, Stanley Clark, Chris Hillman certainly come to mind.

Someone mentioned "Rio" Duran Duran, great choice.
John Deacon on Queen II
