T tomrowe125 Audiophyte Dec 21, 2006 #24 As a Floyd fan, an obvious choice... "The Best Years of Our Lives/Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2" from The Wall. Between the helicopter and the Waters-Mason rhythm section, your system will get quite a workout. "Run Like Hell/Waiting For the Worms" would work well, too.

N Nestor Senior Audioholic Dec 21, 2006 #28 Donald Fagan's "Kamakiriad" is loaded with good, clean bass tracks. Of course, would one expect any less from 1/2 Steely Dan? Also, anything with Tony Levin playing the "Stick", most notably on Peter Gabriel's "So"

There are tracks from Kamikiriad available (Amazon)that only feature bass, drums and vocals--I believe SNOWBOUND is one, I can't remember the other, I have them, they're just packed away for the moment as I get organized.

Click to expand... How about Morph the Cat by Donald Fagen. It's not exactly a virtuoso bass disc, but the bottom is so prominent and hugely clean. It's a speaker and amp test but also just good music with a huge bottom.

R rollinrocker Audioholic Dec 30, 2006 #36 Check out the intro to "right and wrong" on joe jackson's "big world" cd. Crancked on a good system you'll hear the strings "growl" as rick ford sets the pace. I know steely dan's been mentioned, but both "aja" and "gaucho" are outstanding for tight bass, as is "everything must go".

gixxerific Audioholic Apr 24, 2009 #40 Nine Inch Nails - Things Falling Apart - Where Is Everybody (Remix By Lohner & Telefon Tel Aviv) Had this song pushing the envelope of my receiver I think the Focal's still had some life in them though. But it was shaking the hell out of my floor and pretty much everything else. Most awesome, but not In-Your-Face bass more subdued, but in your face enough. A very dynamic track watch the volume the first time 'round or you might be sorry! There are so many this just comes to mind. heres another Matisyahu Dono :edit: Just threw The above NIN track on and if your mids are up to it they will get a hell of a workout with this song. Really great full spectrum from WAY down to screaming high. This is a remix although the original is awesome as well this track is just produced better and sounds so frickin awesome. Don't forget the bong first. Last edited: Apr 24, 2009
