I have no issue with you using in-ceilings for the surrounds; it goes against most peoples opinion on here but in the real world you have to compromise. I use them and they sound really good for surrounds.
Fair enough. I have heard it done well and it does sound great.
My only opinion is if you can, use a separate box. If you can't then yes inwall in ceilings are better than no surrounds.... Star wars is a great example to me where in ceilings are great add to the depth somehow.. but when you get surrounds especialy the newer bipole styles you can really go crazy.. I'm not a fan of bipole (verry limited experience here) but the usualy look better and are more flexible, maybe that could be a happy medium too?
