Wow those are drop dead gorgeous. Those Carbon Fiber cones look just beautiful. I'd rob your house if I thought I could carry those beasts out. That is it, I am selling some organs on the black market to finance some of those, anyone here need a kidney? A leg? I am a non-drinker so my liver is in pretty good shape, if anyone needs a partial transplant.

Btw, those look so much better without the grills. Keep the grills off, don't hide those beautiful cones from the world!
With the kind of relatives I have who like to touchy-feel my speakers, I better keep those big grilles on.

These grilles are actually awesome. Very high quality throughout. They look a lot better in person. Craftsmanship is amazing from the grilles to the sub. Even the packing is amazing. I had a blast unpacking those subs.

I'm actually pondering the idea of selling my dual Rythmik subs and buying a pair of high quality Niles speaker selectors (must have symmetry) so I can use these F18 for the KEF, Revel, and B&W. The RBH would pair w/ the Orion.

Ponder selling them next year, when I have some extra money :D

Your new subs are beautiful.

Good thinking. I'm guessing those protruding surrounds would attract people's hands.

I'll bet those neo drivers made them a lot easier to unpack. They'd weigh, what, another 40lbs each with the LMS 5400?

I think the LMS is a lot heavier. The TSAD18 are actually not very heavy at all, especially w/o built in amp. I can lift the sub all by myself and carry them. The box, I should say crate, adds to the over weight a lot.

I am envious. DD18+ = ~140lbs. Because it's low and wide even tilting the beast takes a bit of muscle.
You think that's bad?? Try an LMS in a 112lb pound cabinet, then stack them. Then when thats done, repeat for the the other corner! OUCH!!! :D

I decided to pair the Canadian Funk with the Brit Diamond. ;)

This is truly high quality bass. Just accurate, tight, deep, powerful, forceful, bone-crunching, gut-felt bass.

But I have to confess. I did not use the dual Crown XLS2500. I used the 2 channels from the AT2004. :D

For an SPL level of 75dB @ 3m distance in my room, the Denon 3310 speaker channel level for the Funk subs was -10.0. That's MINUS 10.0.

As a comparison, the dual RBH SX-1010N was set to -12.0 for the same SPL on the AT2004 & Denon 3310. So I guess the RBH subs are a little more sensitive. On the single Crown XLS2500, Stereo Bypass mode, at 100% gain level, the Denon 5308 channel level for the dual RBH subs are @ -12.0 for the 75dB SPL.

Anyway, the dual Funk 18.0 TSAD are fantastic. Truly high end caliber subs.
Nice to hear your happy with your 18.0's. Have you hooked them up to the crown yet, to at least feed them half what they want :D

Now that you've had some more time with them do you have some more in depth thoughts?

Speaking of power, have you guys tried any of the LG clone amps with your 18.0's??? I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on that. :)

Not yet. They sound so amazing now I can't imagine them sounding that much better. :D

The Funk 18.0 is the best sounding sub, best sounding bass I've ever heard. Period.

Perhaps I may try the Crown in a bigger room.

i looked at those a long time ago, they aren't rated to handle very much power (250WPC max i believe).

Yeah. Saw that about the Niles. Probably okay since my room will not require 250 WPC for 90dB. But it still won't look as cool. So I'll pass.

Really blown away here with these F18s. So articulate. So tight. I'm 100% impressed and happy with these.

I have to confess that although I've heard nothing but praises for the Funk subs, I really thought that subs are subs. But I was way wrong here. These Funk subs are way up there. Way up. My utmost respect.

I really don't want to even try another set of speakers because I just doubt they can beat what I own. Dont even want to audition another set of speakers. Even with free shipping both ways. But now the Funk speakers have me intrigued. :D

I wish you were a bookie, so I could bet against this claim.

I know, I know. One too many times. :D

How much you want to bet I won't buy another powered sub or speaker? Active is fine, but not internally powered. :D

I know i dont post on here very much, and sometimes im a bit of a jerk... but be intrigued by the speakers, and dont stop being intrigued until you at least hear a pair once. I love my 8.1P's and 18.0 TSADv2 sooooooo muuuch they are coming to the grave with me. And im super stoked that someone loves his Funk gear as much as i love mine. :)

it kinda looks like your grilles are standing off of the cabinet... are they? or is it just the pic?

PS - Thanks Nathan for the v2 option. that little bit more output and tight feel is killer for gun fire and explosions. (opening scene of Quantam of Solace in DTS) :D you should totally offer it again, nothing wrong with extra dB's for switching out the cone and surround.
