Last weekend I finally got around to getting my 46 inch bravia wall mounted, and ran a 30 foot hdmi cable to the back room where I plan on locating all of my equipment.
I need to run a direct tv receiver, ps3, and a Wii to the tv, and plan on doing this through some sort of 5.1 surround sound receiver to try to tie everything together with one source. I know that I should be able to run the ps3 and direct receiver through the surround sound receiver with no problems, but is there any way to run the component outputs of the wii into the receiver so it will be run out through the hdmi out? I really don't want to try to have to find a 30 foot component cable for my wii. My other though was to try to mount the wii to the wall mount behind the tv, has anyone done anything like this? the only problem I see with this is getting it to work with the surround sound correctly.
My main question for yall is what kind of receiver and speakers should I look for? I would like to try to keep the budget fairly small, but I have no problem shopping around for deals and what not because this setup is at my home and Im at school right now, but the 1000 dollar tv and the 300 dollar ps3 kinda tapped me out budget wise.
I was also wondering if getting flush mount rear speakers would be a good idea? there is a suspended ceiling in the room so running wires and instillation of the actual speakers would be nice and easy.
Finally, once I have all this stuff set up, how the heck do I control it all? I know Im stuck using the ps3 controller for the blueray because there are not any blue tooth remotes (at least I couldn't find any, I might be wrong, haha) but what do I use for a remote for the rest of it?
Thanks for the help everyone, and any tips, comments, or links you can give me are very helpful!
