Thanx man. You wouldn't believe. I wasn't supposed to buy that amp right now (you know with the Home Theater and stuff...) But then I saw this one on Ebay, I got it for 1,200USD!!! Almost Brand spankin new, with receipt and everything!! and no shipping, the guy crossed the border with it and I met him halfway, to try it. It was too good to pass up, and fortunately the girlfriend saw that too. Afterall, i only waited 10 years for that 100W Marshall...
Ebay is the mother of all invention. That, and espresso coffee.

Hehe.

My Pa used to play 20, maybe 25 years ago so everything has been passed down to me.

Its started with a Hiwatt head and Heilsound cab, but then the head kept blowing (wonder why.. ) So we bought a combo with a 4 and 8 ohm speaker out and ran it with the cab.

Lately though, I've become sick of the speaker in the combo, so I just use the Cab. Sounds much better.

How long you been playin'? And What do you play?

Begun playing bass summer 89 'till 1994, played guitar since.

I've been playing metal (Iron Maiden, Metallica, Ozzy, etc, etc), but I like almost anything with overdriven guitar in it: Pink Floyd, Led Zep, AC/DC, etc, etc. You know, playing for over 10 years, you go through different phases. Lately, I've been playing old Genesis, Rush, and picked up that crazy new band Wolfmother, and learned it almost from A to Z. It's such a blast to play...

I'm very fortunate, cause the theater room is sound proof (well, not entirely, but sound reducing anyway: 2 row of sheetrock, one row of sonopan, one row of sound bars) and I play along CDs, or live concert on the screen. I feel right into it.

Nice setup!

All right, a Marshall half stack and a Les Paul! The ultimate combination. Nothing better as far as I am concerned!

Which Marshall head is that? What cabinet?

I am always interested in seeing people's musical instrument rigs. I have owned a lot of gear in my day. Too much actually but it sure is fun!

Hey, seems like we worship the same gods indeed. My gear consist of a 2000 Les Paul Standard played straight through a Marshall JCM2000 TSL100 head and a 1960A cab. Just as for my home theater I use the KISS principle (keep it simple, stupid). I get enough headache at work.

When I was in school/college, I played a used 100$ Yamaha bass piece of crap. Then around 1994, i switched for a used 100$ Samick guitar. I played that guitar on my Fender Bass amp for many years (student budget, you knows :) ) I bought the Les Paul in 2000, played it though a small 10W amp, and then bought this Marshall monster 2-3 years ago, just in time to fit in my new playroom.

To sum it up, this is the last stuff i'll ever need. (Plus a 70' custom, plus a Gibson Songwriter acoustic cutaway, plus...)

You got some rig now? What do you use?

aww toys....

Well, thank you very much, I did pretty much everything by myself. I never really built anything before. I did the cabinet and the woodwork by myself to save some dough. Building the room was really part of the fun for me.

I also meant to congratulate you on your amazing setup, the fact that it was featured in a magazine is no surprise really. Simply great stuff.

Is that a regular theater, or one where they just show XXX rated movies?

Nice set up, but sorry I just had to give you crap for the porno red walls. :D

Hello there,

My room is 14x21 feet. Remember to be careful about the width of your room versus your future theater seating, it might get tight real fast in there. Even with 14' feet wide, I had to get narrow armrests between my 3 chairs to really be comfortable. Good luck with your projet! Keep us informed of your progress.

Haha, just like for a nice piece of art, the mind sees what it wants to see. Good for you :) Just like the sexy red leather seats, the scandalous red curtain the and the kinky red carpet.......

Do a quick search on the net and i'm sure you'll find lots of very prestigeous "adult looking by your standard" theaters.

Cheers and thanx for looking!
