With 20% alcohol they don't let these get served to anybody who walks in. Click to expand... It is a pretty good kick in the face. Very different and unusual. I like it every so often, but I think of it more as a barely wine than an IIIPA. My wife likes the Ommegang Abbey Ale. I like their Rare Vos. It's an amber ale similar to one of my favorites style of Belgiun ales, the dubbels. Chimay Premiere (red) is another excellent example Another favorite is Afflingem Dubbel When it come to tripels and quads I like Chimay Grande Reserve And a new favorite quad, Koningshoeven (I guess you can tell I like Trappist ales) Click to expand... Trappist ales are great! Too bad one of the (supposed) best in the world is only sold in Belgium at a monastery. I have been wanting to try Westvleteren Trappist 12 for a while, but it is fairly pricey no matter what... Chimay and Ommegang are always good choice though I haven't had the others.

There is only seven breweries that are considered trappist. All but one, Koningshoeven, are located in Belgium. It is located in the Netherlands. Some day I will make the pilgramage to Belgium. If for nothing but to try Westvleteren. The only one that does not distribute product.

Would be great to make it to the brewery though. Until then, I won't have it, but have plans to brew a clone in the next few months. From what I hear the recipe I found is pretty close to the real deal. WhoopPass DIPA in the glass right now. A superb DIPA huge hop aroma and flavor, but well balanced with the malt. Clearly American decent with its citrusy and resinous flavors. Slight alcohol finish as well at 9% I can accept this. If you are on the west coast this is a great beer to pick up.

How about instead of binge drinking you have a few good beers? You can get a good buzz with no hangover and no blackouts while having a good time. If you pick the right beer 1 will get you good and buzzed . Reactions: OttoMatic

I enjoy the taste of beer, which is why I drink more then one. It's better for me to just leave it alone altogether. SheepStar Reactions: Alex2507
