I love Sam Adams Boston Lager, Sweetwater 420, and IPA, and my friend got me into the Southampton Double White Ale.

Yeah, I am bringing this back from the dead...why? I just had one of the best beers I have ever had the fortune of drinking. The downside? Virtually no one will be able to drink it! :p. If you live in or around Chicago seek this out if you like real dark beers (not pretend beers like Guinness).

Goose Island Bourbon County Stout. Absolutely amazing - the worst thing I have to say about it is that it comes in a twist top bottle (seriously that's it)...

I am just glad I have 3 more to age and savor.

Yeah, American Imperial Stout. It is a seasonal release. I am drinking stuff bottled 10/2008. Got a 4 pack in IA when I got married (I have been looking for this beer a while). If you keep your eyes open you might see Dogfish Head 120 minute. It is a 20% abv beer - the strongest I have had a triple Imperial IPA. Massively sweet, hoppy and delicious. I have some aging right now. Good stuff.

Pilsner Urquell from the Czech Republic. German beer flavor without the nasty bite & after taste.

I can get that down here in Florida. I have a beer place that gets beers from all over the world.

I've tried the bourbon county stout, and I liked it up I'm not a big fan of bourbon so... obviously this beer isn't really my type of beer haha. For a bourbon fan, it is worth checking out though... Coffee, chocolate, bourbin... extremely high viscosity. Sweet up front, found it kind of bitter at the end, complex, extended finish (what you would expect from something so thick). Little head.

Extremely filling, found myself wishing I would have shared it.

Guess its just not my thing.

.....

Lately I've been drinking Dale's Pale Ale. Comes in a can, a bit more hoppy than you'd expect from a pale ale, but I think that's one of the reasons I like it (because I love IPA's also). Very smooth, floral...amazing nose. The kind of malt gives it character, while the floral finish makes it very easy to drink.

Highly recommended, I order it by the case now since its one of my regulars. :)

Yeah I remember when I started this thread and then a Mod RUINED IT by merging it with one with the lame spelling of the word favourite.

Thanks for the salt guys.....my wounds are still obviously fresh.

I just had Dales Pale Ale this last weekend and it is wonderful. I think it is funny that a $10/6 pak is can beer....Wonderful stuff.

I was too lazy to look at all the posts, but has anyone ever tried the Delirium Nocturnum or the Delirium Tremens....if not worth a shot.

My brother is a distributor of specialty craft beer and keeps me in the know :D:D

Smaller breweries canning beer is becoming more common because canning lines are now financially feasible for smaller operations. Considering that cans are lighter and easier to ship with glass it makes sense.

yup just down the road from me.
Cool, Austin has the best beer scene I know of, but they are the test spot for TX. You should let everyone know when the Espresso Yeti from Great Divide is released in TX. :D

He said that he has sold some but never tried it. Stouts don't do well in the summer. He said there is a lot of great stuff from the Great Divide just hard to get their hands on it.

Great Divide makes some good beer. I have had almost everything they make, but the Espresso stout, it isn't shipped to TX because the distributors claim there is no market for it . At least that is the story Great Divide tells.

I think you just have to look in the right place. He did mention that it is hard to get beer from them. I believe that Texas doesn't drink as much stout as the Northeast, but to say there is no market for it...that is just an easy way to keep from saying that they can't keep up with demand. Which is a problem with most smaller brewers.
