Failed Analog inputs on Marantz SR7015

Recently the analog inputs on my SR7015 have become intermittent or failed completely, no issues with the HDMI inputs at all, what is odd is that the 7.1 Analog inputs work fine.
Whats failed under Audio in assignable is: CBL/SAT, 2DVD, 3BLU-ray, 4 Game, 6 CD.
In addition the Phono input has the same issue as well as the AUX analog on the front of the unit.
Am not sure if it's a known issue or do I have dead unit.
I want to use the Phono input for my Turntable and the CD input for the CD out on my oppo.

How old is your unit?

That is two down now on this forum. It sounds to me, as if the switching analog IC has failed. The multichannel will not go through that IC.

The problem is, that repair now is by board replacement because of robotic surface hot air soldering. May be in NZ there are boards available, but there were no boards available to repair mine.

You do have a work around in that you could use an external switcher and RIAA preamp to the right and left multichannel inputs. I suspect your only other option is to replace that 7705. I don't suppose your prices in NZ have changed as you don't have a certifiable lunatic running your country.

However Sound United are not a stable entity at this time in my view. However I am going to take a chance on an AVP 10 if I can get one. However the cost may be prohibitive.

If I can't find a suitable unit, I will go to an all Quad vintage analog system and use my HTPCs for streaming.

At the moment, my 7706 is working fine, after that turn on spark that seems to have remade a bad solder connection. I can not begin to guess how permanent it will be.

At the moment I am not very happy with Sound United or that lunatic known as "Trump".

I had a bad feeling about this, I have just dug out the receipt for it and Ii purchased it in July 2023 so it's not very old, I will contact the supplier in Auckland and see what they say, in the interim I will cover all bases before i return it and try re setting it to factory defaults.

If I was in the UK I would send it the a guy who has a channel on YouTube called "Mend it Mark" he repairs electronic equipment and I have seen him replace surface mounted components, am not sure who it could be sent to here but I need to check the warranty.

I don't think i will be getting anything connected with Sound United or the idiot known as Trump.

Thanks for your responce.

Find way to save the configuration since the reset didn't cure the problem, see if manually assigning the inputs helps.

Leave the politics out of this- he had nothing to do with an equipment failure in a piece bought in 2023.

Also, two items from one brand doesn't make it a trend.

When it comes to the high cost of replacements in the US, Trump is PRIMILARY responsible!

When I researched the 7705 I noted an excess incidence of failures. The 7706 is much newer and no trend there yet. As far as I can tell the 7706 is similar.

Hum came back on my 7706 last night.

I noticed that in Canada now we can get those gear for less (than in the USA), for a change, really amazing!

I just took a look of the schematics in the service manuals and based on the symptoms, it is likely a failed IC switch. If that's the case, it should be an easy fix for the service tech, there is no shortage of that particular IC.

Tried all that and hard reset with no change, it's still under warranty (3 years here in NZ) so yesterday it went back in its box and off to the supplier.

I am getting worried about Marantz, my first one was a SR6005 and suffered from what became known as the pop of death, you got a loud pop through the speakers and it went in to protected mode, it went back to the supplier several times only to sent back to me saying they could find nothing wrong, in the end I set up my iPad so it was facing the unit with it running and within half an hour it went Pop, with this evidence they replaced it with a SR6007.
Now I still have the 6007 and was quite happy with it until the centre chanel died and that's when I purchased the 7015, I tested the 6007 to see if there was anything coming from the preamp out on the failed channel and it's fine so its the power amp side that's failed, am using it as a 2 channel unit in the bedroom and will pull it out and put it where the 7015 was so at least i can have some sounds.

Am wondering now if it's worth getting the 6007 fixed.

Question, you say that's 2 down now can you elaborate on that please?
