I usually give him advice because I get involved with media more. An SPL neter would probably help. He is a salesman so maybe buying something from him.

Contest Question: What is the least expensive present you could buy for a fellow Audioholic (CDs, Movies, and gift certificates excluded) that you think they'd appreciate this holiday season?
DIY Acoustical Panels...made with love, sweat, tears, blood, and a few choice words. :D

A/V Cables, SPL Meters, advice, it's all good stuff.

I would try to get something different like a software for cataloging and organizing DVDs and CDs such as DVD Profiler. I'd go for the premium version of course, I'm not that cheap! :)

Offer to spend a day helping to set up their system (interconnects, speaker placement, path switching for "blind" listening tests, fishing wire, etc.).

Even experts only have 2 hands!

Give them an SPL meter. I recently saw them for $29 at www.acousticsounds.com .
I would also offer my help in using the meter to make the system sound as good as I could help make it.

I'd have to go with something portable. On that subject, nothing is hotter than an Ipod.

I would get them a 5.1 surround sound disc. That way they can show off all of their gear.

If they didn't already have one, an spl meter.

Considering they probably already do, some nice new speaker wires come to mind. Changing them up once in a while is always a good idea, and fairly cheap compared to the rather limited other options.

a set of Vibrapods (anything cheaper is just, well.. cheap.)
