Right now my TV has one HDMI input.
I currently have two devices that support HDMI but I can only use one right now. For the other I am using Component.
This is also a concern for me for future upgrades. I am limited.

I have on HD H10 DBS from Directv with one HDMI out and I have a AE700u with one HDMI input, but as others have said, as soon as the format wars for HD settle down, I see a need for switcher with three or four HDMI inputs.

I am of the opinion that it is more cost effective to buy a switcher than using your AV receiver with the constantly changing HDMI spec.

HDMI source vs. inputs

I'm glad you folks are on it! I rarely see any Displays with more then one HDMI, and this it true to my Sharp Aquios... It has only one input.
I'm running my TV cable bos via DVIGear HDMI cable and my DVD is running to the TV set by composite cables. I do have an additional HDMI cable that would be great to use from the DVD to the TV but I dont feel switching the HDMI ccable each time I wasnt to watch a DVD practicel or very good on the conection!
This Switcher is what I need to solve this problem. plus PS3 will have HDMI, youd better betcha I'll be getting a switcher to get the games rumming through HDMI!
Please please pick me! i'll be your biggest fan!

How many HDMI sources?
My dvd player uses DVI and soe does my HD cable box. So a couple of DVI to HDMI adaptors and I'm back in the game.

How many HDMI inputs?
My TV only has one HDMI input, so I took the DVI cable I had on my dvd player added the adaptor and decided to use the cable between the cable box and tv instead leaving the dvd player to output via component video cables.

I have two sources -- a DirecTV HD TiVo satellite receiver and a new OPPO HD up--converting DVD player on the way. My Samsung HRP-4252 Plasma TV only has one DVI input.
