1-Well, I have one HDMI input on my RPTV.

2-And until recently only had 1 DVi>HDMI device being my cable box. However, I picked up the Toshiba HD- DVD (which I later returned-tech isn't ready yet) and it was HDMI. So, I swung by Best Buy and they had a $150 MANUAL HDMI switch and I had no choice but to get it. Luckily, I returned the Toshiba and that allowed me the chance to return the HDMI switch to Best Buy. However, I will be picking up the next Gen Toshiba HD-DVD player and have PlayStation 3 on pre-order and want to get the Panasonic XR57 which is an HDMI AVR. To answer question #2, very shortly I could have up to 4 HDMI devices, go figure

I have dvi(1) Plan on getting the new sony dvd/cd 400 carosell

3 HDMI sources. 2 DVDs and 1 cable box with a DVR.
1 input into the Panny 8UK plasma. I could add 2nd HDMI card but don't need it presently.
Between the TV and the sources I have a Yahama 2600 receiver. This has 2 HDMI in, one out. So I'm short one input. Also the Cable box won't recognize the 2600 without a switchbox, so until the Adelphia decides they will upgrade the software on the box, I have to use a component cable. I need a switch box for both problems!!
