]I just finished ripping my CD collection to an external hard drive in lossless format. I'd like to be able to access my music from anywhere in the house, maybe with a half decent portable, AND stream to my main stereo and HT. I don't like in-wall or in-ceiling speakers, and I don't want a system in each room.
What's missing for me is a decent streaming boombox for casual gatherings, and a reliable streaming device for actual listening in my stereo or HT.
And in general, I wish I had more time at home for listening to music, but that's a different topic altogether.

I have been pretty happy with the way I listen to my music. I have a pretty good collection of high-quality digital audio. I think the most lacking thing is probably the room layout and treatment of my HT for when I am listening there, but I am trying to correct that. The only other issue I have is that my ears start to hurt after wearing my Shure in-ear monitors for too long, and I might enjoy things better if I brought in my AKG over-the-ear headphones. As for the office and the garage, they could use better speakers, but I never do any critical listening there, it is more for just background enjoyment.
