I know this thread is older, but one of the more recent Energy Speaker related ones. I jumped on the
eBay Energy speaker bandwagon when looking to upgrade my home theater to ATMOS 11.2.8. You can't see the back speakers in this picture, and I just painted, so the screen is not yet mounted back on the wall.
Optimize your home theater with overhead or mounted speakers with this guide to your 11.1.8 speaker setup enabled with Dolby Atmos. Enjoy your entertainment in Dolby.

I needed to save some money yet still get quality sound since the pre-amp was going to be a large section of my budget. After about 6 months of eBay auctions and buy it now, I had spent $1500.00. This is the final amount after I resold a few of the extra speakers I did not need from "sets" for $800 ($2300.00).
I was able to get:
[All Connoisseur]
3 x CF-70 (Front L/R and Center)
2 x CR-10 (Front L/R Height/Presence)
2 x CB-10 (Front Wide L/R)
6 x CB-20 (Surround L/R, Surround Wide L/R, Read Surround L/R)
2 x CIC80 (Top Front L/R)
2 x RC-6C (Top Rear L/R)
2 x CB-10 (Rear Height/Presence L/R)
I've heard many other speaker setups, by many other companies, and mine sounds just as good (if not better than) almost all of them. I also ended up buying a bunch of Crown XLS amplifiers on eBay as well to power the lot.
