Ok if price was not an issue which of these two speakers do you recommend?
EMP Impression E5Ti or Intimus 5T Tower Speaker. The price for the EMP set is great. The price for two fronts, surrounds and center from EMP is awesome.

If I stick with bookshelfs should I go with Intimus 6B Bookshelf Speaker or do I keep my current set up (JBLs).

I have been wanting to upgrade.

Any suggestions?????

i decided to pull out and cancel my order. Due to the lack of reviews / comments of owner who only members on here that has 1-3 posts (that claims they have it, but really no full review on it), I think it is wise to wait and not take the dive due to hype.

Even though $400 + free shipping sounds good, I heartly doubt these speakers are all that, but probably be just pretty sitting in our family room not really being played as much as my old nortridges.

The only way your really going to know is to listen to them yourself.

I was initially excited about the EMP E5Ti at the introductory price. After all, they look good and they are cheap. But the most important thing is how are they going to sound? And unfortunately, no one can offer any sort of professional input on that.

It would be like marrying a hooker. Yes, she looks good. And yes she is initially cheaper than investing for the long haul. But how will she perform a few years from now? That's not a risk I was willing to take. :D

I am in a similar situation as you. I'm deciding between similar speakers. The Aperions get great reviews. Especially their customer service. And their 30 day in-home trial is amazing because they will pay for return shipping if you don't like them. That could a $50 - $100 charge depending on what you try out. But I have also been looking at the Axiom M60 which comes highly recommended.

I have the EMP impressions, I have been very happy with them. But I haven't heard the very expensive speakers to beable to compare. The most I have heard is what is available at Best Buy and Frys.

What type of information would you guys be looking for?

They have a great high range of sound, they are the clearest speakers I have heard. The sub is decent, but I really couldn't tell you how good it truely is.

Jury is still out

I'm happy you are enjoying them. Because that is precisely what speakers are all about. Listening bliss is truly in the ear of the beholder. :D

I don't mistrust your opinion/review in any way, but personally I need some comparisons. I have been listening to a lot of speakers lately as I search for the perfect set to buy. I would like someone to be able to tell me how they compares to the B&W 684, the Aperion 5T, they Axiom M60, or the PSB T55 - for example.

I think the problem is that very few people have actually listened to the EMP speakers. So there are no comparisons to be made. But I have to say, they do look great and the the price is hard to beat.

I haven't pulled the trigger on anything just yet. If I can get a hold of some expert reviews/comparisons I may still purchase these babies.

Thanks for your input on your purchase. Keep us posted if notice anything else. I think the jury is still out on these EMPs for a lot of people.

Well, EMP is really making things difficult now. The sale ends tomorrow at 12PM. I just don't know waht to do without a real time audition. In addition, tomorrow is my birthday and these speakers look really nice. I am just not sure about the sound.....

I agree. I think it would have been less painful if the introductory price had just ended unexpectedly. I had my mind made up as well and now the notice of the end has me questioning my decision. I also wish there was a professional review available.

Thanks to everyone posting about the EMP E5ti speakers.
After two weeks of research, I compared Aperion 4Ts,5Ts to the EMPs and went for the EMP E5ti as well as the E5ci. The Aperion 4Ts were a bit too small and the 5Ts too large.
They replaced an older pair of BostonAcoustics T930 and Infinity Sterling center.
I live in a high rise condo so I have to watch the volume, marble floors and concrete ceiling.
The EMPs are not only beautiful they sound terrific.
Thanks again!!

I have owned the PSB B15's, and currently own the 4B's from Aperion and the EMP E5Ti towers.

They are really not comparable as they are all so different. The EMP's are fairly neutral and a little bright through the mids. With good bass extension and excellent highs. Very detailed all around. I do not prefer to do my music listening on these but they are excellent for movies.

The 4B's are very neutral all around and extremely detailed. These are amazing for music as they are in my workstation system where I do 90% of my music listening. They are also incredibly dynamic and sound a LOT larger than their actual size.

The PSB B15 's are very very detailed and have incredibly good bass response for a smaller bookshelf speaker. I had these as my main 2.0 system for over a year and was thoroughly impressed with them. I sold them recently and I think a little piece of me died when they were gone.

If it was a toss up against the Aperion Towers and the EMP's I would take Aperion every day of the week. But they are also more than double the cost of the EMP's so keep that in mind.
