Best answer I can give you:

Most internet direct companies don't meet the requirements set forth by publications to be reviewed. Many of the larger publications require a certain representation within brick and mortar stores among other things. Such requirements go directly against the idea of internet direct sales hence the minimal representation in said publications.

Other than that, well.... pay to play in the mags.
